International Women's Club of Tallinn (IWCT) has supported Charity Foundation My Dream Day (Heategevusfond Minu Unistuste Päev) since the early years of the foundation. For already six years in a row women from different countries have stood beside us. One of My Dream Day founders Marianne Bruhn, who were also member of IWCT, played a major role here.
The president of the IWCT is Faize Akçaba from Cyprus. ”As the International Women's Club of Tallinn, we offer support and assistance to expatriates who come to live or work in Estonia. We have always felt strongly about giving back to our host country and hence added a clause in our Constitution, which states that the Club helps institutions that support women and children in need,” said Akçaba.
My Dreams Day is helping severely or chronically ill children to fulfill their dreams. “Our members have always believed in the potential of My Dream Day and over the years, we have happily observed, how this charity foundation has made a difference in the lives of ill children. This is the reason we have supported My Dream Day Foundation several years,” said president of the International Women's Club of Tallinn, Faize Akçaba.
Every year IWCT is organizing magnificent International Christmas Bazaar in close co-operation with the embassies in Estonia. Last year IWCT collected more than 37 000 euros, from which 2000 euros were donated to My Dream Day Foundation. IWCT were founded by four expat women in 1993. Currently they have more than 50 active members, representing 24 nationalities.
“We are extremely grateful that IWCT values the emotional health of seriously or chronically ill children and their loved ones and continuously supports the activities of My Dream Day,” said My Dream Day Head of Communications Ave Pilt.
